For our final entry, this blog will focus on the final goal of every superhuman, total world domination. Want to institute worldwide peace? Want all the world's riches for yourself? This entry is for you. One need not be a villain to realize that ownership of the entire planet could be beneficial and there are easy to follow steps to ensure this. We're not talking carving your face on the moon like Cobra Commander or capturing all the Energon like Megatron. We're using a practical focus on the methods to obtain the proper manpower, skills and presence to achieve this.

Step 1: Funding and Investment

The first step to global control is resources. These are liquid assets and corporate controls that can be levied toward other sources of funding or monetary gains. When investing, look for smart opportunities that benefit future goals. Commodities such as minerals, precious stones, agriculture and natural resources are things that will never be at a loss. Buy into companies that provide services that will be used indefinitely by the human race. When investing, predict your own future needs as well. When attempting to control the world, the media and transportation will be two essential tools. Start with small purchases in these industries and continue to grow your stake. Eventually being the majority shareholder in corporations such as Lockheed Martin, Caterpillar, Bell Helicopter, CBS and VIACOM will benefit your goal greatly.

Step 2: Leadership and Propaganda

Being a leader is the first step to raising an army and unfortunately, an army is necessary to conquer the world. Learn to give a good speech, be eloquent, concise and make sure the point you impress upon your audience impacts them thoroughly. Use all the tools of the media to swing the population’s opinion in your direction. If you invested in the advertising and mass media conglomerates, as suggested above, you will have no problem generating the coverage you need. Plant stories of your good deeds on the evening news and make the early edition every morning. How? Because you are the majority owner of any writers, editors and publishers that work at these organizations. Once you have fooled the average person into thinking your mission is the proper mission, it is time to find the man-power you need.

Step 3: Sub-Contracting

Purchasing and maintaining a private army can be quite the burden. There are pros and cons to each type of military contractor, both large and small. Employing real life mercenaries should be your first step, albeit a very expensive one. Companies like Xe Services (otherwise known as Blackwater) can provide the budding conqueror with up to 700 well trained and well equipped soldiers. Paying for services as such is an expensive venture, so we look toward the other options. Small developing nations would gladly trade whatever fighters they have for money. This is the balance that must be considered when raising an army potent enough to begin annexing nation’s armies. Expensive, top-of-the-line soldiers provide specific benefits, while whole battalions of unorganized under equipped rebel factions are beneficial for other reasons. Pick each based on whatever conflict you are entering to ensure success of the campaign.

Step 4: Headquarters and Mobility

During idle time, where does one store all their secret projects, plans and expensive equipment? A headquarters is a necessity for any dominating, non-national force. Realistically, no nation will allow one to store a private army their soil during down-time, so there is a need for an unregulated or international area where one can reside. Unfortunately, in today’s world, there are only three options. In the deep freezes of Antarctica or the Arctic and aboard floating vessels in international waters, regardless of what option you choose, there are pros and cons as well. The Arctic and Antarctica both provide tax free havens, where bases are easy to hide. Yet infrastructure is non-existent and the power costs of keeping troops and machines warm are obscene. International waters provide more mobility, yet there is no landing point, and one must exist aboard retired aircraft carriers and large transport ships as their base. Regardless of the decision, the fledgling conqueror and their army must remain mobile and adaptable. If you followed the advice in section one then you’ve invested in transportation and military hardware companies and can easily purchase transport helicopters, treaded vehicles, Armoured Personnel Carriers and even planes. With these and the mobility they provide, as well as your new, secretive and very impenetrable headquarters – you’ve prepared yourself to enter into the fray of world conflict.

Step 5: Success

Start small. Enter into conflicts that currently exist and resolve them. Stake land claims once these conflicts are finished. By doing so you shall expand your global influence, your military power and your financial gains. For each small conflict you resolve, you gain reputation. It is up to you whether this repute shall weigh in favour of good or bad. Once you’ve attained a certain amount of influence, conquering small nations and/or principalities through politic or show of might does not seem like such a great challenge. Absorb their armies and then move on to bigger and better. Eventually, after small countries like Moldova and Georgia come under your control you will soon be claiming such powerhouses as Germany or Japan as your own. Then, of course, there shall remain no competition against your path of global conquest.

A Super Heroes’ body will inevitably receive damage. Be it through an armed confrontation with bandits, mercenaries, henchmen or through natural circumstances such as a mistimed leap, a badly timed dodge or grappling hand-to-hand with a foe. Once one receives damage, it is crucial that they recover quickly to continue whatever mission they hold dear as an above-level human. The human body follows a specific cycle to heal itself, whether from disease, virus, hematoma, laceration or bludgeoning. This process can take a considerable amount of time when unmitigated for improvement. Have you ever had a broken bone? Remember that it took weeks to heal? Imagine that you had the power, the prowess or the knowledge to reduce this healing time? Imagine you were capable of mending a broken bone within days, a cut within hours and a bruise within minutes? Follow the methods below and before you know it, you could be next to invulnerable.

Step 1 - Phytochemicals and Nutrients

  Injury resistance and recovery begins with diet – the stronger and more prepared the core of your human body, the higher the chance it will perform at above human capacity. This preparation begins within! Within your circulatory system, your musculature and your physiological processes. Improving all these processes and systems begins with your diet, but we’re not talking calorie counting here, we’re talking the basic chemicals you put in your body. Welcome to the world of phytochemicals: beneficial micronutrients that are contained in food that work in concert to provide your body with almost mystical powers. These nutrients are the building blocks of vitamins. To create Vitamin E in your body (the tissue repairing vitamin), you need broccoli, to produce beta-carotene (the cell repairing pro-vitamin), pepper it is. Phytochemicals should be accounted for and included in every meal. The most prominent source is vegetables and spices. Be certain to include a multitude of both in every meal. But there are over 40,000 phytochemicals, some of which have uses we are unsure of. Regardless, intake as many as you can.

Step 2 - Physical Prowess

Now that you’ve built your inner body toward being impervious to internal damage and have increased its recovery celerity, it is time to focus on the outer body. If you’ve already referred to our article How-to:Master Super Strength and Agility, you’ve already become an expert in the methods of creating an improved physical structure. Continuing from this – we will examine the most common injury areas: Pressure points, joints and the circulatory system. Muscles protect the inner structure of the body. Protect it by building muscle. Pressure points are the endings of nerves that are close to the upper skin, joints are the weak points between bones and the circulatory system moves blood throughout your body. Protect all of these by over-working them in your downtime. There are many facets to being injury resistant. Tougher skin, stronger bones, joints, etc. Work these in any fashion possible: Stand under water falls to thicken your skin, do whatever it takes – this will reduce the initial chance of injury.

Step 3 - Technique

The technique to healing at faster than normal speeds begins with the two sections above: Improvement of the inner and outer bodies. Once this is complete you may move on to the actual healing techniques. First, be sure you take your vitamins, your penicillin when needed and be sure to have plenty of band-aids on hand, always. Be sure you learn the proper techniques for applying pressure to wounds and packing them. Knowledge is the key. Learn to sew, you will need it once you pull out the intrusive bullet. Healing oneself faster topically involves the proper application of bandages, salves and balms. Purchase with intent when looking for these items, preview your needs, your potential injuries and get the best ingredients.

Step 4 - Success

Having mastered the three above steps, you will find that your healing tempo has dramatically increased. With the proper intake of phytochemicals and nutrients, following a strengthening program for your outer form and finally, applying the necessary mending tools, you will be ready to receive damage from a nemesis and return to face them another day. Be certain, be absolutely certain, to test these skills once improvement has been seen. Get a small scratch, bruise or cut and watch how fast it can heal. Track the time it takes and you will see the improvements meditate plenty – a clear mind is a strong mind and the mind controls the body. The major take home point, the one to remember above all the rest, is maintenance. Be sure to keep up your regime, without doing so, you will quickly lose whatever gains you have made and return to the status of normal human.

Some of the most sought after powers of the extraordinary Super Human are those of the mind. The ability to lift, throw and implode objects with one's mind: Telekinesis. The capacity to predict others actions, thoughts and emotions: Telepathy. The skill to control another's directions, movements and feelings: Mind Control. These attributes are more commonly reserved for men who stare at goats. Not anymore. With only a small amount of tutelage from this article, soon you will be achieving all these goals and more. It takes less work and practice than you would think. Read on to discover the ancient secrets of these arts of mental control.

Step 1 : Social Awareness and Control

Telepathy is not a myth, but keep in mind it is also not about predicting other people's actions - well not through some kind of mystical brainwave absorption anyway. Allow us to properly introduce you to the concept of manipulation. Imagine this: You've gained the ability to predict someone's reactions. You can apply stimuli to situations which trigger specific responses by those around you. You are able to determine what someone will say before they say it.
Manipulation allows for all of the above. This is the first of many aspects to telepathy: Social Awareness. Simply be aware of how people interact with each other, what they say, how they react and more importantly, how they don't react. Learning how the average person will respond, whether physically, psychologically or emotionally - and knowing how to exploit it - is a gift. A gift that can be learned. Try it: go see a group of friends, pick specific emotions you want to draw out and open conversations that will draw the emotions. Knowing how a friend will react is not a proper practice of telepathy, but it is a good first step. Once you have garnered a small modicum of understanding as to how this works, try it on a group of strangers. Own a hippy by assuring their trust in animal rights. Be able to preempt a tough guy's swing in a bar by knowing what will set him off. Physical, fashion or attitude stereotypes can not go far enough in this discussion. Stereotype away and judge, trust your senses and mentally manipulate someone to produce an action you so request. This, prodigy, is Telepathy.

Step 2 : Character Patterning

Mind Control is not a myth either. This is where we step beyond the above detailed telepathy and in to controlling someone's thoughts and responses beyond the temporal sense of the now. Predicting or only helping to decide another's actions is one thing - but using your skills to decide from moment one of an encounter how this person's many benefits and detriments may be used to your advantage is something else all together. This is Mind Control. With the ability to foresee how one reacts, according to our Telepathy section, only one small addition need be made to send you into the realm of controlling someone's mind. Using the predicted actions that we know we can achieve from someone, the next step is determining them. By working toward a full goal in every conversation, action, attitude, stance or emotion you may control one's mind.
Imagine this: You enter a group of people, you listen to their conversation, you pattern their characters. You then plant the seeds of conversation that lead toward your goals. Yes, the hipster wants to hear that the bands he likes are the best. Yes, he is the only one who knows them. Yes, you could use his advise on graphic design. No, you don't mind taking the name of a friend that'll do it for free. Applying the simple theory of character patterns, to our goal of Mind Control allow you, the reader, to manipulate others into providing what you need from them, willingly. With this ability in hand, and with much practice, we move to the next topic.

Step 3 : Proxy Telekinesis

Telekinesis, the act of moving things with the mind. The ability to use your finely-honed mental skills to manipulate physical objects to change location. Let us review the sections above with a simple example. Imagine this: You've entered a group of people you do not know in a social setting ,such as a pub. You introduce yourself. You pattern their characters in around a minute by simply listening. You run each through a basic test of responsiveness via your Telepathic skills, predicting answers to questions or stimulus. You judge which are the more receptive of the bunch and you discuss your thirst. You discuss other's thirsts. You speak of which drinks are more suited to the occasion. You speak of the benefits of having a fresh, cold beverage. Within a short period of time, one arrives.
"Oh no mate, Thanks but it wasn't necessary... Sure, sure, I'll get the next one."
Ladies and Gentlemen, in the scenario presented above, you the user, focused your mental fortuity to bring a cold beverage from elsewhere to your thirsty maw. Without a single joule of caloric energy expended. Is this not Telekinesis?
Moving objects with the mind is not a mythical ability to float meteoric sized objects through the air with mystical branwaves. It is the not-so-mythical ability to move meteoric sized objects through the air by abusing the physical capabilities of others and none of yours. With the skills of both Telepathy and Mind Control refined, you may forever relegate such menial activities as walking the dog, typing class notes, shopping for groceries or unloading the dishwasher to the normal, non-super heroic ones among us. Manipulating the minds of others, to move what you want, for your gain or pleasure, is the only true Telekinesis and we call it Proxy Telekinesis.

Step 4 : Success

Provided above are three simple steps to controlling the minds of others. The ultimate goal being the production of results, actions and answers that you predetermined or instigated. If you want someone to crash a car into the back wall of the bank, that is Proxy Telekinesis. If you want someone to copy what you dictate to produce a document, that is Mind Control. Should you want someone to simply lose an argument you've already decided is won, that is Telepathy. Following the simple steps and applying much, much practice, you could soon be controlling hordes of followers in a quest for vengeance against any cause you so wish.

One of the most important and desirable attributes to being super-powered is greater than human strength. Yet strength is only the first step, existing alongside super-human agility, speed, endurance and reaction time. In today’s episode you will be taught the basics to attaining these not-so-lofty goals. Exceeding the upper limits of human speeds, stretching beyond the limits of human dexterity, carrying beyond the normal capacity of a heavyweight – are all within your grasp. There is no myth behind it.

Through determination, effort, regimented activity and of course the proper mental capacity you will soon be lifting and throwing twice your body weight, leaping beyond Olympic levels of long jump, dodging pint glasses thrown at you across a bar and out-running even the fastest of pursuers. With the physics, chemistry and biology necessary, and in concert with our article Eating like a Superhero, read on to become even more super-human.


Step 1: Aerobic Exercises

See that meathead at the bench press lifting four hundred pounds? The one who’s chest is the size of your dishwasher?

He is weak.

The only misconception to being stronger than the average person is that you have to be monstrous and able to lift small vehicles. This is where most people fail. The work of muscles is graded in two steps: anaerobic processes which are those that require strength (more on this later) and aerobic processes which require muscle mobility. This mobility is more than essential to the everyday operation of your super muscles. The human body’s muscular system is fed by a stream of oxygen and blood and the term aerobic is a derivative of the Latin word for Air. Without air, humans die and this is the same for muscles. Muscle mobility allows one’s system to bend more efficiently, flex further and increases the capacity that it is able to perform at – all through its ability to use oxygen. Aerobic exercises are the key to this oxygen management. The science behind this states that lower amounts of weight, lifted more frequently is as beneficial and necessary as strength exercises. So the next time you are in the gym, working on improving your above average capacities, remember that swinging from ledges, hanging from telephone cables and lifting an enemy over a ledge to find answers isn’t just about being the vehicle lifting meathead. It is also about your biceps', quadriceps’  and triceps’ ability to properly manage and exploit oxygen. Think super – think Aerobic.


Step 2 : Anaerobic Exercises

Anaerobic, from the Latin without oxygen, are the processes in which your muscles use chemicals, proteins and acids. These are the sheer strength related activities. When you clean & jerk a park bench to crush the enemy’s getaway car, you are using the acids your muscles have built and stored. Anaerobic capacity judges the size of your muscle, and therefore the upper end of its capabilities and injury resistance. The larger and harder your muscles, the less damage they will sustain from your super-activities. The key to increasing the strength capacity of your muscles, is lifting your maximums over and over again, until it becomes your minimum.

These are the classic weight lifting exercises. Bench pressing your weight, leg pressing a pick-up truck, curling a dining room table, the muscle work that operates without oxygen, the deep-burning work. Yet as the beefcake in the corner demonstrated – it is useless without mobility. Next time you are tearing no-parking signposts from the ground and wielding them as defence mechanisms, be thankful you combine your Anaerobic with the Aerobic.


Step 3 : Cardiovascular Exercise and Lactic Acid

Cardiovascular exercise raises endurance. Its goal is to prolong the length you are able to compete at maximum level. This is a very important part of the strength and agility combination. The endurance of a muscle is a function of the lactic acid produced therein. When you exert yourself, lactic acid builds up. Lactic acid building up is what causes pain during exertion. Knowing the above: our goal is to therefore raise capacity through endurance exercises. The higher your ability to manage and use lactic acids, the longer you can perform. But there is another key component to the pain you will feel performing above and beyond a normal human, and that is:

Step 4 : Mindspace and Pain Ignorance

Your muscles are limited by the pain you feel. Ignoring pain therefore equals success. The pain is what stops you, and hence: ignoring pain allows for above human performance. Meditation is one of the keys. See our article on Telepathy, Telekinesis and Mind Control for further tips, but for now: The basics. Your mind is made of neurons and electrodes. These control everything in your body, one step at a time. if you were able to control what your body feels in relation to what your muscles were doing, then you'd be able to absorb an infinite amount of pain. Absorbing an infinite amount of pain, allows you to strain your muscles beyond capacity. Through these methods, those of pain ignorance and meditation - you will soon be operating your muscle structure at levels that supersede those of any man, woman, child or animal.

Step 5 : Success

There are many steps to succeeding at everything the article above discusses. Training at a Plyometric, Rugby -style exercise regime is a good start. Plyometrics are the quick production and absorption of Lactic Acid within the tissue. It is a method of exercising that combines aerobic, anaerobic and cardiovascular exercises. Furthermore, joints are weakest areas, focus on these – read our diet guidelines (Eating like a Superhero) for tips on improving your joint material via glucosamine, proper phytochemical and proper nutrient uptake. The joints have very specific mechanical breakpoints, usually judged in kilograms per metre squared. Move beyond these levels of joint capacity and success is at hand.

All of the above comes down to a few simple tips. Train at the above average level, but keeping your knowledge in hand. Combine each type of exercise in concert and unison. Never submit to your maximum capability, move beyond and you will be operating your body at the level of a super human.

Today's segment will teach you to leap tall buildings in a single bound at will. Super Power in humans are considered a myth, but through our step by step guides, these skills can be yours. Firstly, we must highlight - as always - a minimum level of physical fitness to achieve these goals. For the basic requirements and how to attain them, see our Super Strength and Agility entry. For now, we will focus on how one accomplishes this particular feat.
The primary concern when jumping across roof-tops is not failing. Failure means death. Knowing, understanding and accepting this will help lead to success. Five minutes of mental preparation is worth one hour of physical readiness. Faulting on a thirty-two story starting block due to nerves is a costly error. Meditation is a wonderful and helpful resource - see our article Telepathy, Telekinesis and Mind Control for tips on fortifying your mind. The second most important part of mental preparation is the smarts associated with any physical activity. Simply put, knowing the physics behind the problem. Further to this, there are many other minor considerations, which will be discussed below.

Step 1 : The Physics

To teach someone how to jump across an eight meter gap, at a potential elevation of hundreds of meters or more, they must be taught basic kinetics. Any angle of departure of an object, one that has no increase in power once released, must be forty-five degrees. This angle allows for the mid-points of both vertical and horizontal gain. Meaning, any jump at more than forty-five degrees costs you horizontal distance, and any jump under fort-five degrees costs you some vertical. Speed is of course another major component, one that even has the capability to combat some of the basic rules, but this will be addressed in section 3. Physics is a complicated topic that scares many people, but by understanding the basics - you will soon be running across rooftops, springing across avenues and alleyways.

Step 2 : Falling

An inevitable part of this Super Power, is falling. I do not refer to a mistake being made and plummeting to death. I refer to the inescapable force of gravity that takes control once you lunge from your precipice. Acceleration due to gravity is quantified as 9.82 meters per second per second. In plain English, you will start falling at 9.82 meters per second faster for each second you are in free-fall. Some basic mathematics, which we will spare you - the future Superman/woman - state that for each meter of horizontal distance one wishes to clear, a vertical distance of one-half meter must be accounted for. Translation: You will drop half a meter for every meter you fly forward. This must be kept under consideration for each jump, and you must only leap from a taller edifice unto a smaller one.

Step 3 : Technique

One of the most important steps you'll take (no pun intended) to leaping across urban chasms is the technique applied. Remember all those sports you used to play as a kid? Basketball? Soccer? Volleyball? I am certain, that you understand the concept of a running jump. If this isn't ringing a bell, here is a basic breakdown. Priority the first: attain maximum forward velocity. Priority the second: your second last step must be with your dominant leg. Priority the third: lower your center of gravity to mid-height and leap from your off-foot looking upward.
These are the basics to jumping. Speed, Power, Height. Once you have mastered a proper technique, by practicing in a zero-altitude setting of course, you are ready to begin your jumps. One small piece of advice: start small, scale up.


Step 4 : Success

Now that you've mastered all the aspects to achieving your first Superheroic feat, you are ready to run from gun-toting bandits, escape curious police officers or simply explore your city from a different angle - mid-air. Remember that it all begins with mental preparation, is accompanied by it's peer physical preparation and followed by an understanding of physics, technique and focus. Begin practicing tomorrow and before you know it, people will be wondering how you get home so fast.
